About Green Leaf Remediation Ltd
Formerly South Wales Knotweed Removal & Tree Services Ltd, Green Leaf Remediation Ltd is a family run invasive weed management and tree felling company based in Ammanford, Carmarthenshire. We were launched in 2013 by Carwyn Templeton, who is a fully qualified Japanese Knotweed Certificated Surveyor (JKCS) through the Property Care Association & an NPTC qualified Chainsaw Operator.
Our primary speciality is the treatment and control of Japanese Knotweed (Fallopia Japonica), other invasive plant species and bamboo, for residential premises and land earmarked for housing and commercial development. We offer tree services (felling, crowning, removal, pollarding etc), through our experienced NPTC or LANTRA qualified chainsaw operators & tree surgeons who have in excess of 40 years combined experience within the forestry industry.
Our client base covers the whole of South Wales (including Swansea, Cardiff and Newport) and the West Wales area up to Aberystwyth & North Powys and throughout Gwent. We also carry out remedial work in Bristol and deep into the West Country and as far north as Shropshire and the Birmingham area frequently.
Why choose Green Leaf Remediation Ltd?
We were once victims of a large Japanese Knotweed infestation many years ago and we can relate directly to anyone who has Japanese Knotweed. We understand the anxiety you will most likely feel and have no doubt that you have heard all sorts of contorted horror stories through conversations with friends, on contractor websites and within the general media about the seriousness of it. This is where our knotweed story started and where initially, South Wales Knotweed came into being.
From our experience, we learned that there are many contractors operating within the industry who offer all sorts of guarantees at a ‘low cost’ whilst asserting themselves as being ‘the No 1 contractor’ or ‘the region’s leading Japanese Knotweed specialists’ etc. We don’t stake claim to be better than anyone else within the weed control or tree felling industry, nor are we in the business of maligning our competitors. Nonetheless, we will however, give you the assurance that we are qualified to carry out all of the jobs we take on and you will receive a first-class service, at a very competitive cost, with a positive outcome.
If you think you may have, or you know you have Japanese Knotweed or bamboo then we offer a free, no-obligation site assessment where we will identify knotweed or species of bamboo as well as advise you of the best control and removal method for your property and circumstances, giving you costs and timescales.
We are accredited and full members Property Care Association (PCA). We specialise in the identification, treatment and control of knotweed and bamboo for residential and property development sites. Our professional service uses herbicide treatments that are appropriate for your property and the vegetation growing. Most mortgage lenders will only accept a report from a business with these qualifications and will also similarly be required to appease a Local Authority on a planning application.
We can provide you with a Japanese Knotweed Management Plan (JKMP). This is a comprehensive document that details the severity of contamination, provides an evaluation of appropriate control methods, gives a detailed assessment of the risks associated with any control action as well as advice on biosecurity. The JKMP is updated by us annually following annual treatment and evaluation.
We provide JKMP’s for residential properties, building sites that are subject to housing development and larger-scale development projects. A JKMP for a development site will contain more detailed information than a residential property. A JKMP is normally required by a mortgage lender before they agree to lend funds on a property. All our JKMP’s are supplemented by either a 5-year or a 10-year Insurance Backed Guarantee (IBG). The JKMP ‘stays’ with the property or site which means if there is any future property transfer, the JKMP becomes the possession of the new owner, irrespective of how many times the property or site exchanges hands.
We provide tree services, such as pollarding, crowning, pruning, felling, through our NPTC chainsaw operators, all of whom possess a vast amount of experience in the forestry industry.
Our work is carried out by appropriately qualified tree surgeons with extensive knowledge and experience. They all hold CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) cards and are accredited to either Lantra or City & Guilds NPTC Level 2 in chainsaw use, and compliant with all industry standards. Our work conforms with the current best practices for Arboricultural works and in accordance to BS3998 (2010). We stringently adhere to Health & Safety legislation at all times.
One of our expert and certified tree surgeons will offer you advice if a tree or plant can be cut back safely, or if it should be completely removed, always complying with all of the UK Tree Felling legislation.
